At the March 14, 2023 Columbia County School District Board of Education meeting in Evans, Georgia, Ayman Fadel advised the board members to implement policies to reduce the harm from the expected signing into law of House Bill 147, the misnamed “Safe Schools Act.” In addition, he urged the district to promote participation in the Augusta Regional Transportation Study in order to improve safety for active commuters.
